Music from your Friendly Neighborhood Of Reverence

despite its resemblance being purely aesthetic… There is an implied sacrosanct of the song

yesterday I was deeply moved by Bach’s Fugue in D for organ…this is organ midi inspired liturgical is a result of that. My problem: I wanted to make a compelling piece that focused on the organ… I started with 1 organ playing “2 hands” (I used the mouse, as I usually do to arrange) until 2 hands on 1 organ wasn’t sufficient–a second organ.

I opted to avoid a lot of sounds Id normally find essential. I opted to write all the midi of the 11 different instruments within a single FL pattern, to mimic the midi I would come across and import to FL. I opted to make solid fundamental progressions, then to fill them in –adding complexity–such that I was forced to lower the tempo for these complexities to be adequately enjoyed.

organcomp

i first lowered the bpm from 130 to 90 once it became complicated enough that the speed was too great to hear a clarity of the changes at the higher tempo… then I made it even more complicated and lowered it from 90 to 75… and even more, again from 75 to 60… and again from 60 to 45… It plays a drastic slow pace without feeling worse off for this, of which I am proud. The way the harmonies collide with each other… of this song I am proud . . .

The idea of the song is very much inspired by my alias, Of Reverence, i wanted to make something sounding of a church…

I would like to make more music in this styling. In other news on Of Reverence music, I may have a techno release sometime soon…
