WHO IS JSRS DLUXX?
I'm jsrs!
WHAT IS FINGERCOMIC?
Fingercomic is one of two sort of story peices, comics if you will, that I'm trying to get honed in on.
Fingercomic was originally something I started working on after everyone in my life about a decade ago told me to just start doing something imperfect so I could get work out there, which was great until my laptop got vandalized...
fingercomic's namesake is from the original medium of using a nondynamic touchscreen computer and paint.net. not sure if I'm gonna stick to it when it resumes, which has been the hardest part of continuing the story! xD
At any rate, fingercomic is a story about people who don't understand each other, and are trying to find their way home. It's about the internet and how hard it is to truly know anyone.
WHERE CAN I FIND YOUR WORK?
So the aforementioned comics WILL be hosted on [link will be added post-release] in the next few days.
But the overwhelming majority of my work can be found though my website jsrs.at - I'm still trying to build an entire interactive/explorable part of the website to host my poetry, too. I'm just bad at websites.
WHAT DOES YOUR PROCESS LOOK LIKE?
Roulette wheels, shuffled tarot cards and striking while the iron is hot. I struggle enormously with locking down a routine and taking time out of a life that wants to take the time out of me.
But when it's going to happen, it kind of works out like chiseling, but by bit when I can fit it in. On the bus, at my desk, out with friends.
Sometimes it's one line for a written work shoved in my Google keep, sometimes it's a fucked up peice of paper with a cute girls face on it that I gotta trace when I get home and finish when I can.
Finishing things? Now that part I don't have figured out - but it does happen! Sometimes.
WHAT EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE DO YOU USE?
Adobe Fresco is pretty much home base these days. I feel guilty because there are other programs that don't require money or skills in lieu of money to use, but fresco is the first software to really click with me.
I used paint.net for years and am always happy to gravitate back to it, especially when local bands ask for flyer help and when I want to do image macros and stuff like that.
I also still do a chunk of traditional art bc I love markers and inks. I love to draw, take pictures, write. Create bigger worlds with those base blocks.
So I'll use whatever is at my disposal, heh.
WHAT ARE THE PLANS FOR JSRS DLUXX?
Right now for this month... Finish loading in the backlog of sketches to my Patreon, update all my socials, get those comic sites off and rolling, haha. There's a lot of clerical for me right now.
But I'm also working on my first full page traditional illustration for a while, and I want to try to have that done within the month.
And then - the long term stuff is just to consistently produce and build that audience. I'm bad at the big picture these days. I just hope my art reaches people.
ANY PARTING THOUGHTS?
Only partying thoughts.
